Lack of Childcare options as WNY reopens? The Ultimate Resource List for Working Moms.


Are you stuck trying to return to work? While many childcare opportunities have yet to reopen, there are still options. Read on to learn about what you and your family can do to return to the workplace.



When the world shut down so did many of the childcare facilities and working parents were

forced to adapt. Women were uniquely impacted by this shift. One study showed that 31% of women were feeling overwhelmed balancing childcare and professional responsibilities

compared to 13% of men. Now that Western New York can reopen many of our local working mothers are faced with new stress: Finding childcare options so they can return to the office.

  • Buffalo Yacht Club Summer Junior Sailing Program

At the Buffalo, Yacht Club sailing program options will run in one-week sessions from July

6th to August 28th. There are options for children from 6 to 17! Register on their website

today!

  • Camp Centerland at the JCC

Located in Amherst, NY at JJC, Camp Centerland reopened on June 29th. The camp provides different programs for different ages and has offerings for Kindergarten to 10th grade.

  • Elmwood Franklin Summer Camp

On June 29th EFS, began its summer camp program. It is set to run for 6th weeks and accepts children between the ages of 3 ó to 14. Camp days begin at 9 am and run until 4 pm, but extended hours are available if needed.

  • Just for Kids

It is located in Williamsville, NY, and offers you to choose flexible days and

weeks. Session dates are June 29th through July 17th, July 20th through August 8th and

August 10th through August 28th. Programs for children Kindergarten- Age 16.


  • Rolly Pollies of WNY

With Camps in East Amherst, Orchard Pack, and North Buffalo, this is a great camp for kids to get their energy out. There is an AM Camp offered Tuesdays and Thursdays and a PM Camp Monday- Thursday. Options are offered for children aged 3 to 9.

  • Sit 'n Stay Pet Services’ Kid Dog Central Camp

This is a unique camp that not only occupies children but also their dogs. Two 5-day sessions are available for children aged 9-13 and their pups!





2. Local Day Cares

Not all Local Day Cares have reopened, but there are some great resources to help you find the best fit for your family. You can also call them at 716-877-6666 Ext 3064 to speak one-on-one with a networking expert to help match you with the childcare provider that best fits your needs.
